Sterling Motors

Sterling Motors was promoted by Dr Ajit Kulkarniin 1986 to manufacture small electric motors as an off shoot of Kulkarni Power Tools Ltd. Dr Kulkarni was trained by Black & Decker in their Motor Manufacturing plant at Harmondsworth, UK.

Sterling Motors is rated by Crisil "SE 3C". More details on performance capability can    be found on Crisil website. Sterling Motors received the Best Supplier Award from Larson & Tourbo in 2007.

Customers

Philips India, Videocon, Siemens, and Larsen & Toubro have been customers of Sterling Motors for their Appliance and Circuit Breaker (spring charging mechanism) requirements.

Quality and Systems

We have implemented 6 sigma and lean management program. It is stated that our quality is between 4 and 5 sigma levels. Sterling also has an enthusiastic quality circle team for brainstorming.Quality and systems plan is in place and customers periodically audit it. We regularly undertake  various programs for quality improvement. Recently we undertook the 5s program.
